💡Vet Life Reimagined guest, Dr. Renee Schmid, never thought she would have a career as a veterinary toxicologist with the Pet Poison Helpline® and Safety Call International. She is a proud Kansas State University graduate multiple times over. Becoming a mother had Renee ask what she wanted in her life and career next, so she took some pivots.

In 2018, Dr. Schmid became a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (ABT). In 2020, Dr. Schmid became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Toxicology. Dr. Schmid has published a lot of research including research on xylitol toxicity for pets.
