Introducing Avery...you see Avery's name used to be Heather! Heather was working as an RN and was working loooong shifts. Christmas morning of 2018, the Charge Nurse, of the pediatric ICU, "commanded" her to go home saying she didn't look too well. Heather would find herself so sick that she was bedridden. Heather was newly married and "In sickness and in health" came a lot soon than either of them had expected! Heather officially had a chronic illness and disability overnight. Heather mourned the loss of who she used to be. She decided two years later to make a fresh start and changing her name felt right. After sifting through baby names, the one that stood out to her was Avery. Fast forward to current day Avery is going through the legal process to be Avery officially and feels as though she has truly found herself!
