She made him a choir boy and from there his passion for music began. And when he hears "Simple Man" it's as if his mother is with him again! When he gets ready to perform this song he cautions his audience that he sings with emotion so you never know what version you'll get. At the end of the day he doesn't want to "waste his time," the way his dad meant it. So he performs and is pursuing music as a simple man.
