About Yovanna Madhere (in her words)

I'm a first-generation Afro-Latina who grew up in a strict household with emotionally unintelligent parents. Because I felt unseen, unheard, and undervalued, I spent my life well into my thirties with low self-esteem, people-pleasing, feeling broken and worthless. These feelings caused me to make terrible romantic decisions and become a substance abuser. Fortunately, by the benevolence of the Universe and what little self-love I could muster up I gathered myself, got clean, and began to do the inner work required to live a fulfilling, more authentic life. My experiences and circumstances, including my Mother dying of cancer, intimate partner abuse, housing insecurity, and raising a child with Autism, have been the inspiration and testimony I use to help others heal. I am now a master social worker, mental health professional, personal development coach, and public speaker. I am happily married with 5 children in a blended family, and I work with women to help them increase their emotional intelligence and become the woman of her own dreams.
