As the dust settled from the September 11th attacks in 2001, Tom began his law enforcement career as a Patrolman with the Middlesex Borough Police Department (NJ). In 2004, he was hired by the Howell Township Police Department (NJ), where he is currently serving as the Investigations Division Commander at the rank of Captain.
Tom established a set of principles based in self-discipline to achieve the best version of himself so that he could positively impact others. Tom has been both a Police Academy and Department Instructor and Adjunct Professor, and in 2019, he started, Walk the Talk Consultants, where he currently instructs courses he built titled, "Ivory Tower", “Operation L.E.A.D.”, and “Trust in Teams”, which have been presented nationally in over 40 states.
In 2021, Tom published his first book, Copikaze, based upon a series of lessons to help navigate a career in the field of law enforcement, which reached #1 on Amazon Best-Sellers’ list.
